OUR ADMISSION POLICY
With the evolvement of electrical engineering technologies in Ghana and globally, there is an ever-increasing demand for qualified, well trained and professional electricians and engineers. We at Prefos Electrical Training Centre recognize these needs and welcome all and sundry to a place where they can receive an education that is both challenging and rewarding in the fields of electrical installation with special interest in street lighting and Solar Photovoltaic.
Our vocational training center has adopted a competency-based training curriculum and facilitation approach making our concepts a national standard and internationally accepted. Prefos Electrical Training Centre strives to provide educational tools needed for learners to become exceptionally trained and qualified professionals in electricians and engineers. The institute provides each learner with a comprehensive education for employment and advancement in the
Prefos Electrical Training Centre offers more than just the education necessary to pass the national mandatory assessment to become a practicing electrician and engineer. All course offerings stem from the fundamental art and design concepts and principles and incorporate classroom instruction as well as practical client application.
We also require learners to complete at least six months internship to help them into the industry. Our tailor-made educational program stands apart from others, giving our graduates an advantage to gain the prestige of being associated with an educational institution that is known and respected nationwide.
In the interest of providing our students with a well-rounded education in all aspects of electrical engineering technologies, we include classes in business ethics; this gives our learners a competitive edge when they enter the marketplace. To this end, we ask for dedication, discipline and determination from every student.

ADMISSION PROCEDURESCurrently, an applicant can acquire admission forms either from the institute or apply online . However, we refer the applicant who nearer to come to the training centre to acquire the admission form. This is beacuse it will give the applicant an opportunity for the first visit into the school to have a glimpse of, the environment and the available tools and equipment for the training. Fill the application form and attached a passport size photograph, validated result slip or photocopy of certificates. Return completed Application form to the school.

SELECTION CRITERIACompleted applications are processed by the school administrator with the support of the principal to ensure that due diligence is done to the requirement for admission. Successful applicants are issued with letters of admissions, prospectus and fees. Successful applicants would be made to fill softcopy of the CTVET’s enrolment form upon arrival in the school.

STUDENTS’ LIFEAt PETC, every student matters most to us without tribal, religious, political, social, family discrimination. PETC is poised to give quality education and skills to every student. Students are given much attention during academic and extra-curricular activities. Because the Institution is a Competency-Based Training Institution, our curriculum is designed to meet Industrial demands and expectations. It is a practical oriented training taking into consideration the pace each learner takes to get the understanding of what is being taught. PETC has State-of-the-art conducive teaching and learning environment that afford a complete sound of mind for teaching and learning to take place.

ACCOMMODATIONThe institute has Hostel facilities at the moment so all applicants can apply for residential facilities. Instructional time is flexible and learners can choose to join a class at their convenient hours. Our students are given a very conducive accommodation for all resident students for local and international students, both males and females. Our 100 students accommodation capacitor comes with modern hostel facilities which make our students feel at home. Few students in a room with comfortable students bed, nice washrooms with bath -water heaters, comfortable living room etc. Laundry services are also available in our hostel facility.

TRANSPORTATIONPETC has a full air-conditioned mini bus which transports students in and out of the hostel for academic works. Students are also conveyed to project sites/fields for practical and demonstrations session of their courses.

FOOD SERVICEPETC serves 3 balanced square meals each day to all resident students in a clean and hygienic dining hall. Our foods are prepared by the Institution’s sister hotel, Rosapearl hotel that serve us with continental and local dishes to our students.

ATTACHMENTS/ WORKPLACE EXPERIENCE LEARNING (WEL)Our students are guided by the facilitators to get right places for their attachments. Students who perform very well are given opportunities to do their workplace experience learnings our mother company, Prefos Limited. Workplace Experience Leraning afford learners the opportunity to experience Industrial learning so that they can perform better in Industries after training.

ENTERTAINMENTPETC has a very big living room with big TV screen where students can comfortably enjoy all TV programmes. We also have a very big compound where students can do some other games activities.

STAFFPETC has the staff strength of 20 workers of Teaching and Non-teaching staff. We boast of dedicated and committed teaching staff who are qualified and accredited TVET teachers who are capable of handling all our CBT Electives of the trade areas that we offer and Generic subjects like English Language, Mathematics, ICT, Entrepreneurship and Science. The non-teaching staffs are so welcoming and friendly to all students. Our teaching staffs attend to every student’s academic needs when it comes to teaching and guidance, both in class and on demonstration sites. They are facilitators who are well versed in the pedagogy of teaching in TVET education and are experience and skilled both in class and Industrial space. Our teaching staffs do a lot of research works in their trade area before delivery. This has undoubtedly placed us as one of the best Electrical Training Centres in the country.
